Infandous Ktenology –
I wanted to add some details… I have a 2012 Ford F-150 3.5 ecoboost. This product would NOT fit as instructed. Even without the “ford” cup… it wouldn’t fit. With the cup it was way too big and cup wouldn’t fit anyway… without the cup you could tighten all the way down and it was super loose. My fix was to cut about 1/2″ off the thing and it fit perfectly without the cup.

Holy cow! I JUST got this product a couple days ago. I got it because I was taking a trip to a “dark” place. A place that has a lot of nefarious individuals residing in the immediate area. The first day I was here… I was in a restaurant. I was parked out front of the restaurant, where I could watch my truck. I was inside for about 5 mins. I hadn’t even got my soda yet! A group of bruffahs began circling my truck. One went for the tailgate. I didn’t see what happened for the next couple seconds. I was heading out the door to confront them. When they heard me yell they scattered like roaches. I got up to the truck and the tailgate was open. This OBVIOUSLY worked! Holy CRAP! I can’t believe the timing! This thing had been on my vehicle less than 24 hours! The only reason I purchased it was because I have a friend who lives in that area. He told about how common it is for people to steal the tailgate from trucks like mine. I thought he was exaggerating… but I went ahead and purchased this thing anyway. It didn’t cost much… so I figured if it didn’t work I wasn’t gonna be out much. Well… it friggin worked! Idk if it would have saved my tailgate if they had more time… but myself, and Mr Glock, convinced them to make a hasty retreat. This thing saved my tailgate! Not that I particularly care about my tailgate… I just don’t want to go through the insurance hassle.
And… Yeah… this is the longest Amazon review I have ever left. It’s because this product deserves my time.

Should be an easy 5 min installation…if you read the instructions first. Some of the videos show it installed the wrong direction which will take significantly longer and with much more effort. But the premise is sound and should work well!

I was surprised at the flimsy appearance of the product when I first opened the package. The design and modifications made to a simple worm geared hose clamp are simple but effective. Installation was easy if you read the instructions, and removal will be difficult without the special secret key.
