I have run this Castrol Edge 0w20 in my car since the first oil change. The dealer said this is what they use in their oil changes, so I decided to stick with it. I have sent the oil off for testing twice with about 6k miles per oil change, and the results have been stellar. My oil reports state I could likely go 10k miles between oil changes, so this oil has a long life with normal use. The bottle spout makes it easy to pour out of, even if you don’t have a funnel handy. I will continue to trust Castrol Edge 0w20 in my engines!

Great quality oil at a much lower price than buying individual quarts.

Prices on oil have increased, but this 3-pack was more cost-effective the last time I got oil. I use several favorite brands of oil, but Castrol is 1 that I have alway used with confidence. The Toyota V-8 is a marvelous workhorse of an engine. Changing the oil in my Sequoia takes longer & has more steps than my other vehicles, which is a good reason to use the best product & an oil that seems to do well with extended drain periods. I also have the spare-no-expense mindset on preventing engine wear while getting top protection. Sometimes I will be changing my oil & pondering how much the good oil costs, thinking how some shops would change the oil & filter at half of the cost of doing it myself & save me the time & mess. But, when I do it, I know it is done right, using the correct grade, right amount & high quality product. Drained as long as I choose & not over/under tightened.
All the mental & physical input required for my oil changes motivates me to get the most time & miles on every oil & filter change! With growing wiser, newer recommendations & advanced premium quality lubricants – I choose to change my oil no sooner than 12 months or 5,000 miles. Also, I used the high-mileage & regular mileage versions of this oil & there was no noticeable difference. I prefer the High-Mileage formula since the vehicle is older, with 100K miles+. The reg & high-mileage tend to be around the same price when I shop around.

I’ve used Castrol Edge for a while and been very happy with it. I’ve used it in my wife’s BMW X3 since we purchased it and it now has 152K miles on it. I’ve been using it my high mileage Acura TL for quite a while. The TL has 286K miles on the original engine and does not burn oil and still runs great (it’s been an amazingly reliable car). I use Edge 5w-30 in my daughter’s 328i as well.
BMW branded oil used to be made by Castrol (I don’t recall who makes it currently) and it’s been great in all our cars. I use premium oil filters (Mann for BMW and Purolator One for the Acura) and try to change it every 5,000-7,000 miles.
I know they say the oil can go 10,000 miles (and I’m sure it can), but I’m a big believer in keeping clean oil in my cars and it’s honestly cheap and easy maintenance and gives a little extra insurance against premature wear.
The fact that my TL is still going strong with almost 300K miles tells me that using high quality oil and filters that are changed regularly is the key to engine longevity. You can’t beat 5 quarts of great oil for under $30 and it gets dropped right on my doorstep.

I switched to this high mileage motor oil for my car. I did some research and discovered that oil analysis results from enthusiast forums suggest this is top notch oil, with a high quality additive package designed to help with high mileage engines. Think to help with engine noises, seals etc. I won’t bore you with the nutty gritty. Being fully synthetic this would help with engine smoking too, which could occur on older, worn engines. The best part is that it is readily and widely available at any chain store and offers excellent value for money.
This will keep your car running smoothly into it’s golden years, buy with confidence!
