Works as intended. The hole didn’t line up exactly with the receiver on my truck. That made it really difficult to mange, holding and moving the hitch, adjusting the adapter and trying to get the pin in all at the same time didn’t work. I rotated the adapter 90 degrees and drilled a new hole. Now I can push the adapter in as far as it will go slide the hitch in and then the pin. A lot easier. The ad did give that measurement so if I’d checked carefully I would have found it to be off before ordering. But I figured it was standard and would work. Well not quite.

Does exactly what its supposed to do. Great solution if you have a 2.5″ receiver hitch and 2″ shank. Would have preferred the pin hole to line up with it all the way in but not a big deal. Sticks out about an inch and a half. Not a big deal to me. Better than spending $$$$ on a new 2.5″ shank for my weight distribution hitch.

My new truck had a 2.5″ receiver, but my primary hitch (ProPride 3P) had a 2″ receiver. My choice was to purchase a new receiver for the ProPride, which would cost a lot of money, or get a simple insert like this one. I chose to go this route and it works great! Fits snug in the receiver and doesn’t create “play” for the hitch. If you need an adapter, this is a great choice.

I purchased this to replace the 2 1/2 inch to 2 inch adapter that I recently lost. The holes on this adapter are at 3 inches from where it sits flush against the end of the trailer hitch. On the 2020 ram 2500 the holes are at 2 1/2 inches. This caused the insert to sit 1/2 inch from being completely seated. When I went to insert one of my trailer hitches it hit the edge of the insert before the holes lined up. I returned this insert and instead purchased the item specifically for the ram 2500. It was significantly more expensive, but fits the Ram truck perfectly. I cannot recommend this product for the 2020 Ram 2500. This is not a negative review of the product, only feedback that I hope others will find helpful.

I recently upgraded to an HD truck so I went from a 2″ to a 2.5″ receiver. This adapter allows you to use the 2.5″ receiver without having to purchase a larger shank.
Curt products are generally good quality and this is no exception. It’s a heavy piece of metal with a quality powder coating. There is some slight wiggle inside the receiver, but I’m not going to knock a star off because every single hitch product I’ve owned has some slop involved. Bottom line is if you need an adapter, this one is good to go! Two thumbs up.

Works great on my 2011 ford F350 dually,
Had to rotate it “sticker side” down to get it to fit. It sticks out more than my previous adapter…maybe like 1/2 an inch but It has not been a problem.
