Just what my truck need to start up this winter

The cord could be a bit longer.
It is just the right size for the oil pan on my drive to work junker.
Getting ready for that -20 like we had last year.

The installation instructions dictate that you should sand off all the paint and primer to bare metal before installing the heater. Maybe that’s OK if you have an aluminum oil pan, but that’s insane for a steel pan. This is a sure fire way to have a major corrosion issue in a few years; especially if you live somewhere that salts roads….like where it gets cold…which happens to be the same places you’d need a pan heater. Horrible advice.

I ride my motorcycle year-round in Illinois. When it gets below 20 degrees the bike doesn’t want to start because the oil is thick and cold.
I installed this and it works great. I only run it for 2 hours because it gets so hot.

These heating pads are pretty straight forward.
I used a sanding sponge disk on my angle grinder to clean up the underside of my truck’s oil pan and transmission pan, pealed the heating pads’ 3M adhesive side, stuck it on, and sealed it with some red RTV. The red RTV is pretty important, because the 3M adhesive leave a little bit to be desired, and if it gets too cold or wet, it might fail. Additionally, the power cords are a little bit short.
Everything considered, I would buy this again, good value for the price.

Easy application. They stay stuck on very well.
