I have ran K&N filters for many years now in a multitude of vehicles. I’ve never had some of the problems that people have complained about (oil leaking out of the top nut, etc.). What I have noticed is that this filter was made in Korea. Usually I get the “Made In Mexico” or whatever country it was created in, this one happened to be Korea. I don’t know if I am disappointed or not though. I mean a K&N filter is a K&N filter, but I always thought this was an American made product.
On the up side, these filters were actually $2.50 cheaper through here (Prime) than at my big box auto parts store. I like the 1-inch end nut on the filter. It makes removing the filter simple and easy.
The filter itself has approximately 52 pleats of media inside with metal end caps on either end. I personally would like to see about 60 or more pleats in there, but the media is a little thicker than most of the other filters, so I guess that might make up for the lack of pleats. Bottom line is this, K&N filters work. I’ve put them on many cars, thousands of people put them on their cars as well. Yeah it’s a bit pricey, however, the convenience of the top nut? INVALUABLE.

I use these for bikes and cars. They are always tested well when people cut them open and find quality manufacture. No need to crush them to remove a tight one.

I Have a 2005 Chevy Tahoe that I bought about a year ago with 125K. 5.3. Runs perfect. But, I noticed that my oil pressure was only 19 psi at idle and 29 psi on the highway when I got it. I changed my oil and filter with this K&N (HP-1007) and Mobil One 5w30. My oil pressure went up to 40 psi at idle and 50-60 psi on the highway. I believe that this filter did the trick as the old oil was not that dirty. Its a little more expensive than other filters, but well worth the money. I will use K&N oil filters from now on!!

A great quality filter, with a wonderful wrench fitting for easy removal. Anyone who has ever struggled to remove an awkward, uncooperative oil filter will especially appreciate how easy these are. All filters should have this feature. Treat yourself. Spend a little extra. You’ll be so glad you did.

Serviced my V8 Holden today and swear by these filters. 11000 Kim’s and the oil still comes out golden colour

I have switched to these in all my vehicles, not only is this a trusted brand, the socket removal makes oil changes a breeze, I have these set up on a subscription for each of my vehicles

Walmart stopped selling these so amazon was my next best bet. About the same price and fit my 04 chevy 2500hd 6.0 perfectly. Will purchase for every oil change.
