It was good until my 4th use for used oil the pump when out and I can’t find a replacement pump for 12v same size as the one that it came with.

Took a minute to assemble it but was super easy to do. Cant complain about build quality. It works great and the screen over top is grate idea as stops ya from fishing the drain plug outta old dirty oil
Thing holds atleast a couple vehicles worth of oil. Makes putting old oil back into jugs super easy and it pumps it out so fast

  3. Malinda

    works great, durable

Love how low profile this drain is. It’s easy to maneuver around and holds a lot of liquid, but by far my favorite aspect is the fact that this has a drain hose to remove the used oil. Works great.

It’s big,it has a 12v pump.easy to pull. Wasn’t to easy to assemble the pump holes did not line up. The drain holes is to long. Overall it’s very sturdy.

Strong construction and a good pump. Nice low profile to fit under my cars. This allows me to drain the oil and remove the oil filter without a mess. The top screen also will catch the oil bolt in case it is dropped. The handle and wheels allows this to be easy moved from outside to in the garage.

Trust you found this review honest and helpful:-)

I don’t typically leave a review for a product, but I felt obligated to do so on this item. Mostly because I wish I had known ahead of time what I would be up against.

The item arrived in good condition and no parts were missing. The instructions however leave a lot to be desired… in fact, they could’ve left them out completely and I would have been just as well off. The parts diagram didn’t coincide with the part numbers in the (approximately 2 sentence long) assembly instructions. I had to reference the picture from the Amazon website to know what it should look like when assembled.

When I started to assemble it, I noticed that the pump inlet didn’t line up with the hose barb coming out of the pan, therefore I had to drill new holes and relocate the pump. Using process of elimination, I located the screws that were intended to mount the pump to the bracket. The screws provided with the item for the pump mounting were designed to go into a countersunk hole, not to be flush mounted on the pump bracket so I had to buy some 1/4” bolts to use instead.

Once I felt confident that I had it assembled sufficiently, I put a gallon of used oil in the pan and tested out the pump. (I purchased the model with the 12 volt electric pump). I was pleasantly surprised when the pump started working as it should…until approximately 15 seconds later. The pump abruptly stopped so I began to diagnose the problem, thinking that I had a possible bad connection on my battery. I then noticed smoke had started coming out of the cover on the electric motor, where the switch is located so I unhooked the battery clamps. I decided to take the cover off the motor and investigate. One of the spade connectors was melted so I decided to ensured the other terminals were tight and replace the melted one. When I pulled the melted spade connector off the back side of the switch, it snapped off the switch completely. Rather than waste time and effort returning the product or buying a replacement switch, I decided to wire the motor hot and bypass the switch all together. Once I reassembled everything, I tried to pump some more oil out of the pan and it worked. However, for the short time that I was operating the pump, it was getting very hot. I’m speculating that the pump was either not designed to pump something thick like motor oil, or that they undersized the wire/switch/terminals.

Long story short, there aren’t many affordable, high quality options for this style of oil drain pan. Even the expensive ones that I found online were still made in China.

A little taller than some but it is definitely a good product at a great price, until the switch burned up the second time we used it to pump oil out into our waste barrel it burned up
