Price is phenomenal. Filter is rated for only 5000 miles and is a good choice if you change your oil frequently. Recommended for conventional oil or synthetic blend. There are better, more costly oil filters for use with pure synthetic oil.

Best for the best

I’ve spent a lot of time researching and trying different oil filters to determine which one is the best for my application and I have settled on the Purolator One. For me, I have two Hondas that are direct injection/turbocharged and I change my oil and filter regularly at about 4,000 to 6,000 miles using name brand full synthetic oil (usually Pennzoil Platinum or Castrol Edge OW-20). I have also tried the K&N HP-1010, K&N PS-1010, Bosch Premium 3233, and Purolator Boss.
I have ordered the Purolator One from Amazon about 8 times at this point and it has always arrived in its original packaging without damage. Sometimes Amazon will have a $2.00 coupon off the listed price, so check this listing regularly and “stock up” when it’s cheap. The Purolator One filters at an efficiency rate of 99% at 20 microns and is marketed as being able to withstand a 10,000 mile drain interval. Since I change my filter regularly with every oil change, I have settled on the Purolator One because I don’t need the 15,000 mile drain interval that comes with the Purolator Boss. I have never had trouble taking off this filter even after a long winter.
I am not going to suggest that this filter is superior to the K&N HP-1010 or the K&N PS-1010, but I like the overall construction of the Purolator filters. Both of the K&Ns have a thicker wall (which is similar to the Purolator Boss) than the Purolator One, which can withstand higher burst pressure and has more durability from road debris. This isn’t an issue for my application because my oil filter is unexposed and shielded by a belly pan. The Bosch 3233 is sold cheaper than the Purolator One (about $6.00 on Amazon as of the date of this post). Comparing the Bosch 3233 with the Purolator One, the filters look nearly identical in construction. This is likely because Bosch and Purolator were owned by the same parent company at some point and probably share design components. This filter is far superior than the Fram Extra Guard or Fram Tough Guard in construction.
All in all, for the price, the Purolator One seems like the best value for my application. If you are changing your oil at regular intervals and under 10k miles, this is a great filter. If you are going beyond a 10k mile drain interval, you should look at the Purolator Boss or Wix XP.

Have been using these on my partner’s Acura TSX wagon for several years now. No issues of any kind.

I use these on my 2001 Honda CBR 600 F4i and absolutely love them. I’ve seen a couple tests done online comparing multiple different brands of oil filters, and Purolator PureONE’s are always one of the leaders. This is one of the cases where the extra length of filter media truly does help keep your engine running in tip-top shape, paired with Shell Rotella T6 Synthetic oil; you can’t go wrong.

This filter is a little longer than the factory oil filter but still fits great. Now I can pour 3qts of oil during changes, instead of having to measure out 2.9qts.

Best filters all around in quality for my 2017 Civic Hatchback. I usually do oil changes every 3.5-5K. Out of all the Purolator filters the Boss is literally a boss at handling consistent flow and filtering in all weather conditions. Paired with Amsoil I couldn’t be happier

I’ve seen videos tested where this filter has preformed very well and have heard about it from other people and figured I would try it. It’s build quality is noticeably better than some other filters I’ve used, around the gasket they crimp the metal to keep it held in place to prevent a double gasket from happening. I’ve seen some filters where the gasket is just held on with hopes and dreams haha. I used this on my 2009 Honda Civic LX 1.8L inline 4 r18 engine. This will fit all NON SI (so, ex, lx, etc.) civics with the r18 engine from 2005-2012

Purolator “Boss” oil filters won against many other brands as the number 1 filter on the market. High quality, best filtration, long life. They go on sale every once in awhile so stock up. If you live in Canada they might take a little longer to arrive because they’re shipped from the states.

Excellent product and fast shipping. Too bad it’s a little on the spendy side, and they’re scarce as hens teeth here in Canada. Oh well.
