These straps are well made and easy to use. I have seen similar straps for a lot more money. They were a great purchase.

I recently had the opportunity to use the SmartStraps 10′ Retractable Ratchet Straps, and I must say that I am thoroughly impressed with their performance. These straps have proven to be reliable, convenient, and durable, making them an excellent choice for securing cargo during transportation.
One of the standout features of these straps is their retractable design. The retractable mechanism allows for quick and effortless storage and retrieval of the straps. No more tangled messes or wrestling with long straps. With the SmartStraps retractable feature, you can simply pull out the desired length and lock it in place. It’s incredibly convenient and saves a lot of time and frustration.
The ratchet mechanism on these straps is also top-notch. It provides a strong and secure hold, ensuring that your cargo stays in place even during bumpy rides or sudden stops. The ratchet is easy to operate, allowing you to tighten the straps with minimal effort. The release mechanism is equally user-friendly, making it a breeze to remove the straps once your cargo is unloaded.
In terms of durability, the SmartStraps 10′ Retractable Ratchet Straps are built to last. The webbing material is sturdy and resistant to fraying or stretching, even when subjected to heavy loads. The hooks and ratchets are constructed from high-quality materials that can withstand rigorous use without showing signs of wear and tear. I appreciate the attention to detail in the construction of these straps.
The length of the straps, 10 feet, is suitable for a variety of applications. Whether you’re securing items in a truck bed, trailer, or roof rack, the 10-foot length provides enough flexibility without being excessive. It’s a versatile size that meets most hauling needs.
Another aspect worth mentioning is the overall value for money offered by the SmartStraps 10′ Retractable Ratchet Straps. Considering their durability, ease of use, and convenience, these straps are priced competitively. They offer an excellent balance between affordability and quality, making them a wise investment for anyone in need of reliable cargo securing solutions.
In conclusion, I highly recommend the SmartStraps 10′ Retractable Ratchet Straps to anyone in need of a reliable and user-friendly cargo securing solution. They excel in terms of performance, durability, and convenience, and their competitive pricing makes them a fantastic value for money. With these straps, you can transport your cargo with confidence, knowing that it will remain securely in place throughout the journey.

Great product. They are heavier than other straps but far make up for it with their ease of use. No more stressing about loose straps.
Just check for initial tension. Then occasionally throughout your tow, for safety. They are tough. I feel to heavy for tying down a load in bed. But they will work

My husband hates when the regular straps get all twisted up when he’s trying to load something so I bought these retractable straps for him for Christmas. He absolutely loves them and already tested them out to hold a large gas fire pit in his truck bed. He said it took no time at all to have everything strapped down and after unloading, it was simple to retract the straps and put away in the cabin. Highly recommend!

I am a delivery technician and as a part of my job I carry a lot of medical equipment in my transit van every day. We are given ratchet straps, but dang, I have no patience to fight with the damn things every time I need to put something in or take something out of the van. Ratchet straps are good but not when you need them every minute and constantly pinch your fingers or wind up with tangled or loose straps laying everywhere and getting caught in everything and rolled up into wheels on the equipment. It is a huge headache.
We aren’t allowed to use bungees or cambuckle straps or anything else due to an accident one of our drivers had in which a very heavy piece of equipment secured only by a bungee strap nearly crashed through to the front of the van and could have easily killed or injured him.
So I have to use ratchet straps as my employer no longer allows other types of straps . . . But not necessarily the ones supplied by the company. I bought a few of these as I sometimes haul stuff outside of work anyway and needed new straps so the timing was perfect to try something new. Well, I bought three sets of these retractable straps and they have been a huge help. No loose straps getting caught underfoot or under other equipment, getting everything in a tangle. No pinching my fingers, no struggling to untwist a strap that’s truly stuck in the ratchet. It is a huge improvement.
However, they aren’t perfect. They can be a little awkward when it comes to unwinding them as you have to have the huge ratchet buckle wide open and pull the strap free while pressing the button to release. Too bad it doesn’t have a switch or button that locks that simply unwinds the strap until you flip it back. It would be much smoother that way. Wouldn’t hurt if it were a few feet longer either. 15 feet would be perfect length, but 10 is good for most things too. The strap can still twist up and give you problems sometimes and cause a little fighting to free it but it is still a lot easier to fix than with a normal ratchet strap. Doesn’t hurt my hands when it happens. Just a few extra tugs and it will come out okay. I don’t know how long they will last as I have seen some wear on the straps themselves in the month or two that I have had mine but not too bad. I use them every day and while most of the equipment I load is no more than a few hundred pounds to a strap, I must also mention that I am not ratcheting things down to max capacity either. Mine also don’t see any rain or snow. Some reviewers mention that these can break fairly easily when pushed to their limit, but I couldn’t say as I simply don’t use mine hard enough to find out.
The ratchet itself is huge and seems really heavy duty. The retractable feature works most of the time. The straps sometimes go in twisted and then it will stop pulling and often if I am in a rush I will just ratchet down to kill the remaining slack. But most of the time it does work quite well. The best thing to do is to try not to strap things at an angle or to feed the strap in carefully so that it isn’t getting mangled. With care, I have no doubt these straps probably do last a good while.
I can 100% recommend these for light duty hauling like what I use mine for every day but can’t comment on how well these would hold up transporting heavy equipment like cars on a flatbed or something like that. If you aren’t hauling Fort Knox in your pickup bed, this strap should be fine. Got a riding mower to transport on your utility trailer? This strap is definitely capable of that. But keep in mind the ratchet on this thing is huge. It isn’t as rinky-dink as some of these other straps. I bought all mine used as the price is a little higher for a set but as long as the straps hold up a few years I would say these are good enough to just about make regular ratchet straps obsolete.

I bought a set of these last year to secure my power chair in the car, which weighs about 220 pounds. One of them failed. I bought a new set this year to replace the one that failed. The new set initially two straps were bad. Amazon did give me credit for the two bad straps. However, it looks like a third strap is bad. Do not buy these especially if you want to secure a load that could fall off a moving vehicle. The ratchet fails, causing the strap to come loose. They also fail by not allowing the user to release the strap. These are very poor quality and should be recalled by Amazon. They can cause a serious road hazard if the straps fail. Product is so bad, one star is too much!

In the pack of 4, I had two break on me on their first use. I submitted my complaint to SmartStraps and I had a customer service rep email me back the same morning and theyre sending me another set. THAT is customer service!!! Very easy process and hope those two faulty straps were just a fluke. The other two that worked as designed are great.
